Cheng Du Impressions is a hidden gem located in Lincoln Park. It's a bit out of place with its surrounding but it certainly does not discount the authenticity of the Sichuan food served at this restaurant. Annie and I are amazed each time at how numbingly spicy the food is! Sichuan cuisine, if you aren't familiar with it, is known for the Sichuan peppercorn which quickly numbs your tongue after you eat it. For those who love spice, give it a try - you'll find your tongue numbed out, hyperventilating for water to quench the fire in your mouth :) :). Sounds horrifying but we absolutely love it!
When we first found out about this place, I brought my boyfriend there for a Saturday night dinner when he visited from New York. He loved it so much that we went back for dinner on Sunday night.
So delicious! I'M DROOLING FROM WRITING THIS. IF YOU'RE IN CHICAGO, GO TRY IT NOW!!!
