This was actually my second time having Strings Ramen. I wasn't blown away the first time, and my second visit was no different. It's difficult to find a delicious, comparable ramen place if you've been to Totto Ramen in NYC (it's Annie and my favorite!! YES, it's BETTER than Ippudo.) It was a cold winter night and my friend wanted ramen. Since Strings ramen restaurant was the closest to The Loop, we decided to go there. The menu is hard to read. There are lots of Japanese terms with no English translation which makes it difficult to know what to order. Strings only has one vegetable ramen -- there are no other choices, unfortunately. The broth is pretty good. They pour scallion oil on top of the broth, and I didn't like that the first time I got it, so this time I made sure to tell them to exclude the oil.
Strings is pretty average but if it's cold outside and you want something soupy, this might satisfy your cravings :)
